2011 GRAND NATIONAL EXHIBITION
The 2011 Grand National Watercolor Exhibition was hung at the Mississippi Museum of Art in downtown Jackson from October 2, 2011 - December 31, 2011. This exhibition was the twenty-sixth Grand National for the MSWS. Seventy-eight artists from 25 states and Puerto Rico entered 135 paintings for the juried show. Of the 135 paintings, 58 made the juror's selection and fifteen were by Mississippi artists. Four artists from Mississippi received cash awards, including the top award, the Arts in Mississippi Award. The judge for the 2011 Grand National was Kathleen Conover, NWS, TWSA. Fourteen paintings received monetary awards totaling $4,400; the top two awards totaling $2,500 were funded by the MSWS.
